Sonic's Joyride has become a mission of Hope.
After 12 years of reiventing and defining indipendent music, Sonic
Joyride stands behind our leader Chris Hobler in his mission to reinvent
and define methodology for funding, researching, and developing treatments
for all orphan diseases such as ALS.
"In June of 2001 I was finally diagnosed. ALS (Lou Gehrig's Disease)
is one of the most terrifying, dismally under-funded and under-researched
diseases known to man. The brain slowly loses its ability to communicate
with the body. The body shrivels up and dies while the victim's healthy
mind and family sit helplessly and watch. No one has ever survived.
However, there is scientific promise on the horizon, and with proper
funding it is clear that ALS can be beaten." - Chris Hobler
Chris founded ALS Hope, the Chris Hobler/James Martiz foundation. A
non profit foundation with the singular mission to find a cure for ALS
by funding progressive research and in the process create a new methodology
for funding, researching, and developing treatments for all other orphan
diseases. ALS Hope has a focused vision of a world free from ALS, but
curing ALS is not our ultimate goal. It is simply a means to an end.
ALS HOPE sees itself at the center of a new system that provides people
affected by all orphan diseases the funding, resources and information
needed to fight back and become self-empowered.
